ULTRASOUND EXAMINATIONS
Ultrasound imaging is a safe method that uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound examinations performed by a radiologist do not require a doctor’s referral. In addition to ultrasound imaging, SYNLAB’s ultrasound examination includes a radiologist’s statement. The statement is only available in Finnish.

A service charge is added to the total price of examinations.
- Breast ultrasounds are currently only available in Turku and Helsinki.
- The ultrasound examination is always done by a radiologist.
- Arrive at the service point 15 minutes before your appointment.
- The results will be available in your online Health Folder portal within 1–3 working days.
